Yante Turner is an openly Trans & Queer Black change agent of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With his background in grassroots organizing and care work, he's been committed to melting the ART form of facilitation and community art with Social justice! With radical frameworks and ideologies in Black liberation carrying his work, he looks to transform the connection between communities of color, systems impacted people and historically underserved communities through relationship building and self/communal exploration of the future through ART expression!
Yante's background includes 7 years of art school (6th grade to 12th grade), 5 years of grassroots organizing and dabbling in community defense and safety task force where he works to create safe communities for queer and Trans BIPOC. He is a facilitator of all the things Trans, Black, Healing, joyful and challenging. Creating affirming spaces that also foster continuous learning are important factors in Yante’s work, as he explores and transforms himself and his art forms, he hopes to bring the community along with and continue to advocate for systems impacted and marginalized people through whatever art form, protest and position!
